Mark Harmon to guest star on ‘NCIS: Origins’

Oct. 28 (UPI) — NCIS legend Mark Harmon is to guest star as his character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, on the prequel, NCIS: Origins, next month.

Harmon is heard narrating the 1990s spin-off, which is now in its second season on CBS and Paramount+.
But the actor, who is also a producer on the series, actually will be seen on camera in the episode set to air on Nov. 11.

“Four years ago, Gibbs disappeared to Alaska to live a life of solitude,” co-showrunners and executive producers David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal said in a statement Tuesday.

“We know how much fans have missed seeing Mark and have wondered what Gibbs is up to today. Well, on Nov. 11, we’re so excited to announce that Mark Harmon will return as Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the Origins hour of the NCIS crossover event. We don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say Gibbs is no longer alone.”

Harmon played Gibbs for 18 seasons on NCIS. Austin Stowell plays a younger version of the character on Origins.
