For the past 13 years, it has been a pleasure and privilege to work on a show that not only honors the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also emphasizes the value of family.

Working with these wonderful performers, writers, producers, directors, and crew has been a dream come true, and I’m honored to have been a part of this extraordinary group for more than 275 episodes.

CBS will discover that a large number of people are unwilling to let go of it. The show is more popular than ever, and I believe [numbers] will rise with the interest this year. We are certainly not out of ideas.

Why is Blue Bloods Coming To An End..?

Blue Bloods premiered in 2010 and has now aired for thirteen seasons. Season 14 of Blue Bloods will premiere on February 16, 2024, and will consist of two parts. Blue Bloods was cancelled late last year, with the forthcoming season serving as its final.

The cancelation of Blue Bloods after a succession of rough production patterns leading up to season 14. CBS reportedly requested significant budget concessions, which resulted in actors taking salary cuts to keep dozens of staff workers employed.

According to Deadline, the renewal of Blue Bloods season 14 was done with the idea that it may be the series’ final season. Thus, the Blue Bloods team went into the writers’ room with a sense of finality.

Hopefully, the problematic production of Blue Bloods season 14 foreshadowed its cancelation enough so that the last episodes felt truly final. If Selleck is correct in his assertion, the Blue Bloods writing staff is “not out of ideas.”

On the one hand, if there are still various plotlines to explore with the characters, the finale may feel incomplete. Looking through an optimistic viewpoint, this means that Blue Bloods will still have enough of ideas to explore once season 14 begins.
